Harlan Campbell
Harlan Campbell, Jr. of Tribune, KS, began his registered career in 1973. Since then, he has fired at more than 500,000 targets, accumulated many awards and logged numerous records. His trophy collection includes more than 200+ trophies in Grand American competition, more than 50 in the past two years alone. He has won 12 Grand American Championship rings (4x All Around, 4x High Overall, 3x Singles Championship, and 1x Doubles Championship), in addition to 3x Champion of Champions titles (2008, 2016, 2017). With a record 60 Grand American Doubles, 100-straights, 10 of which were posted in the Championship race, he ended as event Champion in 2012. He has logged 200-straight 34 times at the Grand, 17 of them in the Clay-Target Championship, which resulted in a high finish of Champion in 2012, 2017 and 2018.
Harlan has won 100+ Satellite Grand titles and has established current all-around records of 397 at the 2002 Great Lakes and 2005 Northeastern events, plus 399 at the 2006 Southwestern Grand. He won the 2009 Southwestern HOA title with 1,283/1,300 and the 2008 Heartland HOA with 1,086/1,100—both are still tournament highs. He is 25 -Time ATA All-American Team member, including once ATA All-American on the 1980 Junior Squad, and once 1997 Men's Second Team. He has been a Men's First Team member every year since 1998 including being Captain 13 times.
Campbell has collected Trap & Field All-Around Average awards every year since 2002, leading the ATA in composite averages in 2012. For 24 of the past 25 years, he has finished with a singles average of 99% or higher. His personal best is a 99.66 in 2014. He completed his ATA Grand Slam in August of 2000 with a 100 from the 27 and ranks among the association’s leaders in the 100s in doubles, with 331 to date.
