HIVIZ® Team Members Take Bianchi Cup Titles
Laramie, WY – Team HIVIZ® had four members of its pro staff attend the 42nd running of the Bianchi Cup National Action Pistol Championships this year and they brought the heat. Every year the Bianchi Cup attracts the best action pistol shooters from around the world creating one of the most stacked fields of talent in any pistol event. This year was no different, even bringing in some international competitors from Japan and Australia despite COVID restrictions.
Team HIVIZ members Becky Yackley, Sean Yackley, Andrew Yackley and Tony Holmes all attended the event in Columbia, MO, May 25-28, at Green Valley Rifle & Pistol Club. They were challenged across the four action pistol events of the Barricade, Falling Plates, the Practical event and the Moving Target. In the end they prevailed! Becky took home her fourth National Women’s Title and first Ladies Open National Champion title with a score of 1908-139X and Andrew, in his first Bianchi Cup appearance, took home the Junior National Championship Title with 1882-134X keeping the title in the Yackley family.
“We’re very happy about the boys being the Junior National Champions for six years running,” said Becky Yackley. “It’s an accomplishment that they all have helped each other achieve, year after year, and often under stressful conditions. Their camaraderie and teamwork is the biggest accomplishment in it all.”
The Junior title had previously been held by Sean Yackley. He started this year’s competition strong but was plagued with equipment issues that he was unable to overcome in the end.
Long time competitor, Tony Holmes put up a strong showing and finished with a score of 1909-161X to finish 7th place in Open, 10th Overall and 2nd in the Senior category. He won the Falling Plate event overall with a score of 480-101X.
