Lanny Barnes is a three-time Olympian in the sport of Biathlon. Lanny and her twin sister, Tracy, competed in several Olympics together before both girls made history and inspired the world when Tracy selflessly gave Lanny her spot on the Sochi, Russia 2014 Olympic team after Lanny fell ill during the final trials and was not able to complete all the races. Lanny is a several-time National and World 3-Gun Champion and currently competes in 3-Gun, Handgun, PCC, IPSC Shotgun, and Rifle competitions. She was the top American with a 4th place Individual and Silver for the team at the IPSC Shotgun World Championships in 2018. She also placed 3rd Individual and Gold in the team at the IPSC Rifle World Championships in Sweden in 2019.
She is currently teaching courses to military, law enforcement, and competitive shooters on how to shoot with an elevated heart rate and under stress and is the Director of LE/MIL & Airsoft Sales for HIVIZ Sights. Lanny has been a professional artist since 2000 (www.theolympianartist.com) and she and her twin sister spend much of their free time traveling around to schools, 4-H clubs, Boys & Girls Clubs, Boys & Girls Scouts, etc. speaking about following their dreams, setting goals, and leading a healthy active lifestyle. Both Lanny and Tracy also take wounded vets and terminally ill kids on hunts through Freedom Hunters and OE4A.
